Government Investigating Volkswagen Stalls

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has begun investigating Volkswagen vehicles after receiving reports of engine stalls and failures, sometimes at highway speeds. The agency said on its Web site that the engine stalls could be related to "high-pressure pumps failing and contaminating the fuel system with debris."
