Defective Motrin
New details emerged Monday about Johnson & Johnson's efforts to buy up defective Motrin packages, the subject of a congressional investigation into whether the company sought to avoid a recall without the knowledge of the FDA. Staff at J&J's McNeil Consumer Healthcare unit messaged each other in the spring and summer of 2009 that they'd kept an FDA official informed about the use of a contractor to buy defective Motrin off store shelves, according to emails and letters reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.
